A graduate of the California College of Art, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Textiles, Jake Alfieri headed directly to New York City in 1989. His work has been exhibited in museums and galleries throughout NYC and the tri-state area, including the African American Museum of Philadelphia, the Belskie Museum, the Rubin Museum and the Bronx Museum for the Arts. Alfieri has won numerous awards in sculpture and received the BRIO award (Bronx Recognizes its Own) in 2013 and 2017. Alfieri is a member of The Bronx Art Alliance and the Bronx 200 Artist directory.

Early in 2016 Jake ( formally Jeanine) realized he was transgender and began his transition. Over the following six years he continued to make art but only began showing his work again recently.

Jake lives and works in the South Bronx, New York.
